“Time waits for no one”. A poignant satire on the fast lives we lead, and the way no one really takes the time to do anything anymore.

A discarded draft for a pavilion competition —an idea based on scaffolding as a means to provide quick and available shelter— became a sketch for an art installation that when stripped of its forced architectural purpose, seeks to achieve an immersive experience evidencing the beauty in the mundane through stacking and repetition of utilitarian/day-to-day elements (scaffolding, in this case).
Still in development, this project has the potential of replicability through its unit element’s modularity, accessibility, and ease/speed of assembly. As well, it can allow for the scaffolding to provide exhibition space and performances to take place inside the installation. Its scale, juxtaposed with its lightness, makes it very feasible as an aesthetic thought-provoking polyvalent piece in festivals, civil squares, or any open space.

Discarded copper tubes from a house renovation project were repurposed as a sculpture representing nature and space. Much like a flower, it opens up gradually and organically, contrasting the original rigid and utilitarian nature of its copper components. The radial repetition alludes to the tubes’ original shape, yet the intertwining vertical growth of each “row” effectively acts as the piece’s namesake: petals.
